Mads Peter Heide-Jørgensen

Mads Peter Heide-Jørgensen is a senior scientist at Pinngortitaleriffik and has been working with marine mammals in Greenland since 1982, with a scientific publication list in peer reviewed journals of more than 180 papers. Mads Peter holds a doctor degree in biology obtained in 1996 and is since 2013 an adjunct professor at the University of Copenhagen. He works with ecology of whales and is especially known for his expertise in development and best practise on deploying whales with satellite transmitters during the past 3 decades. Besides teaching and supervising students, he is a scientific member at NAMMCO (North Atlantic Marine Mammal Commission, JCNB (Joint commission on narwhal and beluga) and IWC (International Whaling Commission).
